One of my most rewarding journeys in life is keeping my health, shape and mind youthful.  I am 47 years young and I have to say I enjoy looking and feeling younger than my age. In fact, my body age is only 36. Are you wondering how I do this? Well, I could look at it negatively and say it is hard or I can but then that is negative. Or I can look at it positively and say it is fulfilling and constructive. To tell you the truth it is what I say it is. If I say it is great for me to go to the gym and train 5 days a week, do cardio 5 days a week and eat a clean diet 6 days a week than that's exactly what I create.  This brings to mind one of my favorite saying. "What you think about you bring about".  Isn't that so true! So change your life and your thoughts for the positive. Hold the Negative!

Dear Athlete, 

As I deal with my clients I find most of them have the same issue holding them back from their goals and that is 'Fear'. Why are we so afraid to succeed and be better than the day before? Why are we always so worried about what other people are thinking of us?  The truth is most often everyone is worried more about themselves than the other person. Isn't it time we rise above the fear and become what we are here to do? That's what this newsletter is about, becoming more of who you are by looking forward to our new experiences and leaving the past behind you. I continue to find ways to be more of who I want to be, so I thought it would be a great idea to share with you some of the things that has helped me overcome my fears.
Do You Really Want It? 
Marathon runnersIf you know what you really want, are you going after it? Or have you been thinking about it month after month, year after year but nothing has happened. What is holding you back? Are you going to find out or are you going to continue on the same journey of fear and dissatisfaction? It will take courage for you to take the first step to finding out what is holding you back.
 
Do you know what steps you need to take? Well, I'm here to tell you to get outside that box and make a phone call. You're wondering to whom, right? Well it will be the same for some of you and different for others.  Here are my suggestions. Call a professional that knows how to deal with fear and helping you resolve what is holding you back. For example, I used hypnotherapy to help me resolve some issues that were holding me back from being who I wanted to be. Hypnotherapy, gave me the strength to be that person.  Hypnotherapy might be the solution to help you get to the core of an issue that is in your subconscious and you just can't put your finger on. For others, a counselor or therapist might be the solution. Some of you might just need to talk to an objective acquaintance to whom you can speak honestly and openly about your issues, so you can clear your mind. Still others need someone to push them and hold them accountable. I hired a life coach myself so I was being held accountable for my progress.  This helped me move forward in several areas. So get off that couch and get on the computer and start looking for that person who will help you be what you are here to be.
Are You Present?
MeditationThere are several studies that show if we are present and aware of what we are thinking and doing we will be able to make conscious decisions with positive outcomes. I have found that learning how to be aware of what I am thinking and changing negative thoughts to positive thoughts has changed my life. Sometimes I have found myself thinking I am not good enough to do this or that and I have to stop right there and say to myself "I am good enough and I do deserve to have this or do that." After doing that over and over you start to believe the positive and then you start creating the positive.
 
Believing in yourself is your greatest power for achieving your dreams. I have created my dream of having my business by continually telling myself I deserve to do what I love. Now I get to help women get in the best shape of their lives. I love teaching fitness, motivating and encouraging my clients to be better than they have ever been. I love watching them become more confident and having more power over their lives because they feel great about themselves, not to mention beautiful and healthy. Stop, take a few minutes and really listen to your thoughts and don't believe everything you are telling yourself. You are beautiful, you are smart, you are an achiever, and you are powerful.
 
Who Is Going to Stop You?
Business womanAre you really going to let someone keep you from your dreams? Are you worried about what your family, friends or loved ones will think? Remember, you are in control of your life and responsible for your life, not someone else. Sometimes others want to make you feel like your dreams don't matter or your dreams are ridiculous. Ask yourself, "Who are they to dictate your dreams." Are they afraid you might be successful?  You don't want to look back when you are old sitting in your rocker and think; I really wish I would have been strong enough to stand up to this person or that. I really wish I would have started my own business, traveled overseas, ran a marathon, or stayed active so I wasn't in this rocker, etc. You can't blame your partner or family for things you have not accomplished in your life. When someone offers negative criticism, ask yourself if they have the credentials to do so. Successful people take advice and criticism from other successful people; people who have succeeded at the same pursuit.
 
So now what are you going to do? Are you going to get up off the couch? Are you going to do some research and make some phone calls? I think it's time; don't you?
